In early November 2018, Executive Mayor Johan van der Hoven handed over 550 wheelie bins to the residents of Klawer a first for the residents of this Matzikama town.
The provision of these wheelie bins came after the municipal council saw a rise in illegal dumping in the local town. Mayor van der Hoven stated he is confident that because of these wheelie bins, illegal dumping will be a thing of the past.
Upon handing over the 550 wheelie bins to residents, Mayor van der Hoven implored residents in the town to make use of them and do their bit to assist the municipality in keeping the town clean. Mayor van der Hoven stated that he will continue to serve the municipality and bring effective service delivery to all who live in it.
